Navigating COVID 2021

More Clean Language approaches for difficult times

It’s been more than a year since we were blindsided by the pandemic and we’re still learning to navigate “the new normal”.

Listen as SIX Clean Language professionals each bring a different perspective to clean approaches for navigating difficult times.

Greta Irving, Angela Dunbar, Gina Campbell, Judy Rees, Sharon Small, and Annemiek van Helsdingen created this FREE six-part follow-up series to share MORE Clean tools, models, and principles that you can use with yourself and others as you navigate COVID in 2021.

Each session has its own format and focus of attention. Your experience during this webinar series will range from learning easy, clean mini-models that you can use with yourself and friends/family to offering time for deep personal exploration and experiential learning.

A broad set of experiences, to be sure, and ones you do not want to miss.

Each presenter is both an experienced trainer and facilitator of Clean methodologies and each brings a specific and unique focus to their session.

The sessions will take place LIVE on six consecutive Fridays starting July 23rd. Each session will be approximately 60 – 75 minutes (the last 15 minutes being for Q&A).

July 23, 2021 | What Do You Know Now?

What do you know now about the global pandemic? A multiple-person clean exploration in virtual space.

When the global pandemic situation has been having an impact since the beginning of 2020 and continues to be such a feature of our lives…what do you know now?

A year on from our last Clean and Covid series we’ll take another opportunity to explore in virtual space. In this session that draws on Clean Space principles we will explore the emergent knowledge arising from several virtual spaces on Zoom. We will use broadly the same topic we explored last time–the pandemic and its global impact–and this time we’ll incorporate some common global contexts as seedbeds for emergent knowledge to arise. Let’s find out what we know now…

Greta Is a Therapist, Coach, Facilitator, Trainer and Clean Assessor. She started her Clean journey in 2003 and has incorporated Clean across her work. She trains coaches in Clean and, as a registered psychotherapist, uses Clean Language, Clean Space, and EK approaches in her therapeutic work. You can find out more at www.gretairving.co.uk

July 30, 2021 | Finding A Way Through Uncertainty

How do you know where to go when the world is experiencing such uncertain times?

Angela, along with Doris Sew Hoy, will be presenting a simple and very clean group facilitation using David Grove’s Emergent Knowledge techniques to represent what you know on paper and explore the unknown around and beyond that. We’ll be looking at the representations you put on your paper eg the words, letters, shapes and drawings, and exploring them through time and space….

Each participant will be facilitated as part of a group exercise, and you will also be given the opportunity to ask and reply to some simple follow up Clean Language questions in breakout rooms.

Angela is a highly experienced coach and coach supervisor, an author, trainer and a Master NLP Practitioner. Accredited (and former council member) with the Association for Coaching, Angela has been developing people since 1994, has a passion for Clean Language with a special interest in confidence, creativity and communication skills. August 6, 2021 | Changing The Rules

It’s gotten to where just seeing a lot of people without masks in a movie scene can make me uncomfortable. Are they out of their minds?! Clearly, I have deeply internalized rules about social distancing. What about you— what rules have you internalized?

If you are lucky enough to be in place where vaccination rates are high and some sense of normalcy is returning, you might think you would be wildly relieved and ready to celebrate. But many people are experiencing a reluctance to let go the restrictions they’ve lived by for the better part of the last year. The official rules may be changing, you may be vaccinated, and your mind says it’s okay to get out there, but your body is saying, “Ummm, maybe not so fast.”

In this session, we will use Clean Language questions and Post-it notes to explore the exact words of some outdated (or soon to be outdated) old rules and some new rules we would like for ourselves.

Gina is a certified Clean Language counselor and the author of four books on Clean. After 14 years of leading in-person trainings for helping and healing professionals, in the fall of 2019 Gina moved her trainings to a comprehensive webinar platform. August 13, 2021 | The Shape Of Work To Come

The shapes of our teams have shifted during 2020. Once we worked in clusters, in the same physical space. Now, many of us work from home, some from the office, others in cafes and co-working spaces. As you’ve noticed, that has changed how we work together – not always for the better.

In this session you’ll use Clean Language to uncover some shapes that may be shaping your thinking, and explore how the shape of teams may change in 2021.

Judy is known as the co-author of the bestselling book Clean Language: Revealing Metaphors and Opening Minds – and as the founder/organiser of Clean’s annual live-online event, Metaphorum. Just before the Covid crisis she published Web Events That Connect, and has spent the last two months helping in-the-room event organisers, trainers and facilitators to do their thing online.

August 20, 2021 | Navigating the Intersection of Mandates and Suggestions

The complexity of mandates, expectations, recommendations, and decisions continue to increase and with greater variation. How do we manage constraints when there are differing opinions and sometimes intense emotions? This could be navigating the continued mask mandates, the recent mask suggestions, decisions on vaccines, differing opinions in our social pods and families.

In this session you will use some specialized and highly specific clean language questions to 1) notice what is happening for you in times of decisions and 2) discover what you need to navigate circumstances while staying in personal integrity.

Sharon is an independent researcher and internationally recognized Clean Language trainer and assessor. With over 13 years of experience working in the nuclear industry, a degree in psychology, and a background in NLP, Sharon brings a broad set of skills and experiences to her training rooms. She is the author of The End of Therapy, co-editor of Who is Using Clean Language Anyway, and is a leading authority on Clean Language methodologies and their use in the workplace. She is the founder of The Clean Language Institute.
